A picturesque vacation spot in the north of India is Kerim Beach (Goa). It is located near the town of Pernem, in the village of Querim. The deserted coastal area attracts surfing and yoga enthusiasts.

Pine trees and cacti grow along the shore. Mosquitoes are active after sunset. Jellyfish (Aurelia aurelia and Cornerotis) are rare (July through September).

The low season begins in mid-May. The air temperature is +25…+33°C. At night it is cool (+24°C). In July, the munsun (rainy season) begins. Humidity rises to 78%. The water temperature from May to October is +26…+29°C.

How to reach Kerim Beach in Goa

Querim is located 30 km from the city of Mapusa. You can get there by scooter.

From the city of Panaji, tourists reach the beach by bus NM 66. Travel time is 1 hour and 36 minutes. From Dabolim airport, vacationers travel towards the beach by rented car. The journey takes about 2 hours. The journey to the beach via the villages of Betim and Aldona takes 2 hours and 23 minutes.

Historical sights of Kerim

Near Querium Beach, in the village of Morjim, is the Sri Morjai Hindu Temple. The Sri Ajoba Mandir Keri (Sri Ajoba Mandir Keri Church) attracts tourists. They pray with parishioners, take photos of the temple’s decorations and leave donations.

Querim’s north beach is a little crowded. To get to its territory, tourists cross the Terekol River by ferry.

Preparing for the opening of the season in Goa, tourists get acquainted with the peculiarities of rest in the state of India:

  1. At Kerim Beach, the sun is at its peak. You should drink water every 30 minutes and wear a panama or baseball cap on your head.
  2. You should not swim in the sea in April, when the wind blows strong and the waves are high (2-3 meters).
  3. Going on vacation, buy vacuum bags for things, freeing up extra space in the suitcase.
  4. No unclothed persons are allowed on the beach.
  5. Before starting your trip, you should gather information about climate, medical facilities, rules of behavior in public places, food prices.
  6. You should only buy water for drinking at the store.
  7. For safe flights on a paraglider purchase quality equipment: high boots with shockproof soles, sports pants, jacket with sleeves, a durable helmet, a spare parachute, thermos.
  8. Do not surf within 3 days of rain. Heavy precipitation is a health hazard. Rainwater is contaminated with pesticides and chemicals. Only after 72 hours, the number of harmful microorganisms decreases to normal levels.
